On April 21, 2026, Clinton Prairie hosted four schools for the high school division of Academic Super Bowl. Academic Super Bowl is a program supported by the Indiana Association of School Principals in which students study a given theme throughout the year before competing in five subject-area rounds. To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, this year’s topic was The American Revolution. Students studied various texts including 1776 by David McCullough, American Revolutions by Alan Taylor, various poems of the time, and selections from Hamilton. Additionally, students examined art by Copley, Peale, Stuart, Trumbull, and West, learned about the chemistry behind spycraft, and investigated diseases and their effects during the American Revolution. Twelve Clinton Prairie High School students represented our school in math, science, English, social studies, and fine arts. Of all teams in the state in Division Four, our Science team placed 17th, and our Fine Arts team placed 18th after three methods of tie-breaking.
On May 2, 2026, our junior high Academic Super Bowl team traveled to Klondike Middle School to compete in the area competition. At the area competition, our six competitors answered questions in rounds for social studies, math, English, and science, as well as in an interdisciplinary round combining topics from all subjects. At area, our math and interdisciplinary teams placed second of seven teams in our division, and our social studies team placed third. When Klondike’s area results were combined with all others in the state, our math team came in 14th, and our social studies team placed 16th.
We are looking forward to seeing where our teams can go in next year’s competition, which will focus on the world following World War II.
