The administration at Clinton Prairie received an email from Wesley Manor outlining some of the ways in which our students are serving the community, and we wanted to share. Kudos to our students for making a difference in the lives of others!

"As Director of Life Enrichment at Wesley Manor Retirement Community, the willingness of volunteers to bring joy and share their talents with our 250 plus senior residents is priceless.

Today, Clinton Prairie third grade student, Paisley Ward, brought 130 homemade bracelets to Wesley Manor and passed them out to our Health Care residents including our dementia residents.  Paisley made these bracelets as part of the national “Random Acts of Kindness” week.  Paisley’s selfless act of kindness brought countless smiles to so many!  Kudos to her and to her father who arranged the visit.

Additionally, the Girl Scout Troop led by Kristina Rosero-Campos, comprised primarily of Clinton Prairie students, volunteers every third Saturday of the month to call Bingo at Wesley Manor.  And finally, Clinton Prairie high school student, Lucy Huelskamp who is a member of National Honor Society I believe, has reached out to arrange volunteer opportunities for CP members of NHS.  They too will be calling Bingo one Saturday in March and hope to help us with a recycling project being conducted by our residents.

There just seems to be a trend among Clinton Prairie students to understand the need for volunteers and an understanding of how rewarding of an experience it can be for the giver and the receiver!  Any words of encouragement or gratitude that can be extended to those students would be greatly appreciated.  We value the partnerships we have with all our local schools."
